For nearly a millennium, Knights and Ladies of the Order have answered a singular call — to sustain Christian life in Jerusalem and the lands where our faith was born.
The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem is a lay institution placed under the direct protection of the Holy See. We are men and women of Catholic faith — unified by an ancient and sacred calling.
Our mission is singular: to strengthen Christian life among our members and to sustain the Church’s presence in the Holy Land through charity, solidarity, and prayer.

Since the medieval Crusader period, these three calls have defined what it means to be a member of the Order — and what we owe to the lands where Christ walked.

Membership calls us to grow in the practice of Christian life — through the sacraments, prayer, and solidarity with the Church’s universal mission.
We fund hospitals, schools, parishes, and institutions of the Latin Patriarchate — the primary Church authority in Jerusalem, Cyprus, and Jordan.
We ensure the Church endures in Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Jerusalem — protecting the living witnesses to two millennia of Christian heritage.
Endowment Funds
Two funds carry the Lieutenancy’s care for those least able to bear the cost of conflict — the bereaved, and the children whose schooling would otherwise end.
Endowment fund
Families across the Holy Land have been torn apart by war and tragedy. Mothers raising children alone carry the whole burden of food, shelter and schooling. This fund exists so that no child is left without support because a parent has been lost.

Education is how a Christian family stays in the Holy Land. This fund carries the cost of schooling — fees, books, uniforms and transport — for children whose families cannot meet it. A place in school is a reason for a family to remain.
Every gift is receipted for Canadian tax purposes. To discuss a legacy to either fund, speak with the Treasurer.
